Holiday Parade

Tonight, we braved the colder weather and took Chay downtown to see the annual holiday parade. Chay had a good time. The picture above is from my cell phone in "night" mode so I apologize for its poor quality.

Proof Positive

This is proof that our little boy is walking now!

Go Sioux!

After last week's hockey game, we all went out to a local eatery for dessert. Chay loved the fireplace!

Nice day for a short walk

Chay has now been seen making short walks, 4 or 5 steps at most. Many times, he has to be encouraged into walking. But sometimes he'll come up with the idea on his own. If I can capture video on my camera, I'll post it.

Tooth #11

I think I found tooth #11, another molar. Again, he won't let me look, but it feels like it poked through.

First Steps

Chay has all the skills to start walking. If he has something as simple as a wall to balance on, he can walk with no problems. He pushes a car around the house like its a NASCAR race. He can even start out standing, bend at the knees to pick something up, and return to a standing position, but only if he can hold on to something for support. And Chay can stand up (hold on to something) and kick a ball. But he has been very stubborn to actually start walking.

Tonight, we went to Lakken's Sweet 16 birthday party. Chay actually walked 5 steps before deciding he went too far and sat down on the floor. Latana missed it because she was in another room. We tried for an encore performance, but Chay was not obliging the crowd.

Tooth #9 and #10

I'm pretty sure that Chay has two molars that have poked through. This would make teeth #9 and #10. I cannot see them as every time I try to look in his mouth, Chay won't let me. Once in a while, I can get a quick feel with my finger, but even then Chay will either bite or pull away. In any case, Chay is also working on #11 and #12, two more molars.

H1N1 Update

Yesterday was a chance for Chay to get the first of his two H1N1 vaccinations. I stood in line for an hour and a half before the clinic opened to make sure Chay would get his shot. He was number 79 on the list. Once the clinic opened, we were in and out in less than 30 minutes.
