We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!
Between the blizzard outside and Chay being a little under the weather, we'll be staying in tonight.

Merry Christmas
Latana, Chay and I would like to wish everyone a very, merry Christmas!
One of Chay's favorite things these days is hockey. So he is loving this net that Santa brought for him.

Cities Trip
This last weekend, I had to be in the Twin Cities for a bit of work on Saturday morning. Latana and Chay came with me and we had a mini-vacation. The hotel we stayed at had a water park. It was very packed so I think Chay was reluctant to swim. But overall, it was good to get away for the weekend.

Twins Update
We had another checkup today to see how the twins are doing. Twin A weighs in at 2 lbs 8 oz and Twin B weighs in at 2 lbs 12 oz. Both are doing great!

Winter Weather
It wouldn't be like North Dakota unless there was a good amount of snow on the ground in November. An unseasonably warm October had us thinking winter wasn't going to come any time soon, but that was not the case. Chay decided to get bundled up while I fired up the snowblower.
Sleepover
After Friday night's hockey game, Bailee and Carter decided to join Chay for a sleepover at our house. Chay had tons of fun!
Twins Update
In case you had not heard, the twins are rumored to both be boys. Everything checks out so far. Mom and babies are doing well. The last ultrasound only had pictures of "Twin A". Below you can see him checking you out and get a glimpse of his feet.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We're hoping that the blizzard scheduled for tonite and tomorrow doesn't appear as bad as predicted. Otherwise, we'd like to say Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween
This year, Chay was a puppy for Halloween. We went out trick-or-treating and at first he wasn't into it. Once he realized that every house we went to was going to give him candy, he was happy as could be.

Blizzard
As I write this, the blizzard has started outside. We are supposed to get somewhere between 2-5" of snow but it is also very, very windy outside. I always say that we get snow no later than Halloween and this year is no exception to the rule. While it is snowing outside, enjoy this picture of Chay from a warmer day!

2 Year Checkup
Chat had his two-year checkup this week. He passed with flying colors! He now weighs 27 pounds and is 34" tall. The only downside to the appointment was getting 3 shots

Birthday Party
Chay had his second birthday party today. This year's theme was construction trucks. His cake was very cool!
Chay blew out two candles with some help from Mom.
And then he dug in the for feast!
He loved all of the toys he got today. While it is early, his favorite appears to be a large tractor from his grandparents that he can ride around the yard. He turns two tomorrow. We can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Sioux Hockey
The hockey season started last night with our favorite team winning 5-2 in an exhibition match against the Univ of Manitoba. Chay was in mid-season form eating anything he could get his hands on. For a while, he refused to share this large bucket of popcorn.

Bloody Nose
Last night, Chay got brave and decided to stand on one of his toys. Before you could do anything about it, he fell off the toy. He landed awkwardly enough to give himself a bloody nose. Now this wasn't his first bloody nose and normally these things aren't newsworthy. But this time, it was quite the gusher! He had blood streaming down his face at a nice rate. Of course, he was crying the whole time. We raced into the bathroom and started to use a cold, wet washcloth to clean up his face. Standing at the sink, he looked up and saw himself in the mirror, face all covered in blood. He was quite startled at the sight! I think he didn't quite know what to think of what he was seeing. After the bleeding had stopped and he was cleaned up, he looked like the fight had been knocked out of him. He normally throws quite a fuss when he gets out of the bath or has to get his pajamas on, but last night, one hour after the incident, he made no fuss whatsoever.

Jabberbox
Chay has become much more of a talker over the last few weeks. He will now repeat many words you ask him to say. The other night, we were going over a few such words and he repeated every one of them. Shortly after that, Chay was doing something he was not supposed to be doing so I said "stop it". Chay turned to me and said "stop it" and then proceeded on his way. Apparently in Chay's mind, we were still playing the game.

Tyler's BDay
Last weekend, we attended Tyler's birthday party in Grand Forks. Everyone had a good time and Chay loved playing on the castle in the park!

Dr Visit
Today, we had a checkup with the doctor to see how the twins are doing. We had a quick ultrasound and we could see both of them moving around quite nicely. I think they were already starting to pick on each other a bit! Mother is doing well.

Long Overdue
This post is definitely long overdue! It has been forever since I updated the blog. I bet you were thinking I had given up!
It has been a very busy summer. We have found time to enjoy the lake once in a while. Chay can be seen here with a bubble machine at the lake having a great time.
Most of you have probably heard by now that Latana & I are expecting a new arrival in March. We were shocked a few weeks ago when we had the first ultrasound to find out that not only will Chay be a big brother, but he will be a big brother to twins!
And if that were not enough, today was my first day at a new job. After 11 years of working for EROS (5 years in Sioux Falls and 6 years remotely here in Fargo), I resigned to accept a position at NAU Country Insurance. My job at EROS changed significantly over the last two years. I was spending less and less time doing any database work. My new job let's me return full-time to being a Database Administrator which is what I prefer to do. Today was only the first day, but it was good to get back to working on databases once again.
I'll leave you with one last pic of Chay.
I'll try to update more than once every two months!!

Haircut Time
It was haircut day recently. After the cut was over, we decided to try a little messy look with Chay's hair...what do you think?
First Zoo
A few weeks ago, I had to drive down to Sioux Falls for a one-day business trip. Since it was only one day, we decided to take Chay with us and after I got done with work, we headed to the Sioux Falls Zoo. It was a little cool and threatened to rain, but that just meant we had the zoo to ourselves. Chay's favorite animal was the monkeys!
Easter Egg Hunt
I must be late posting to the blog if I found pictures from an Easter Egg hunt on my camera that I had yet to download. Chay had a great time on Easter looking for eggs with his cousins.
Teething Again
Chay has all 16 of his baby teeth so what does he do? He starts teething again. Apparently, he didn't want to wait for his 2-year molars so he is getting them early. One has already broken through the gums!
Little Helper
It has been too long since I updated this blog. So I have a few different items to post. I'll start things off by adding a picture of Chay helping me out with cleaning the floor.

Playland Fun
Today, Chay had a birthday party to attend at the YMCA. They have one of those giant playland like you'd find in fast food restaurants. This poor-quality pic of Chay was taken with my cell phone.

Shiver
Chay's newest word is "cold". He likes to dip his hands in ice water and then say "cooollllddd". Tonite in the tub, he put his hands in some water, said "cold" and then did his best shiver impression. He was just hamming it up!

Talking
Chay has been talking more lately. He now says "purple", "shoes", "socks", "basketball" (dunno how he fit a 3-syllable word in there), as well as "Coke".
I remember the first day he said "shoes". We had just come home from daycare and he needed a diaper change. I took off his shoes and said the word to him. He repeated it for me. I had him repeat it 3 more times. That evening, when Latana came home from work, I said to Chay, "tell Mommy your new word. Can you say Shoes?". Chay ran away. I thought this was just a case where he didn't want to say the word and was trying to avoid us. Next thing I know, Chay emerges from his bedroom with one shoe in each hand and gives them to Latana! Funny!!!

18 Month Checkup
In case you missed it, Chay turned 18 months old on Sunday. Where has the last year and a half gone? Since he is now 18 months old, that means a regularly schedule visit to the doctor. This time, he did not have to receive any injections as all his immunizations are up-to-date. Chay weighed in at 24 pounds 12 ounces and is now 32 inches tall...almost 3 feet! The doctor said that Chay's health looks great!

Happy Easter
Wordsmith
Chay has been trying to expand his vocabulary as of late. His most recent words are: purple, green, blue, Todd, and basketball.
Sioux Stunned
This last weekend, we watched our beloved hockey team fail to show up for the first two periods of the first round of the NCAA tournament. Down by 3 goals to start the third period, they finally showed up, scored two goals, but fell short and got an early ride home. Here's looking to next year!

First Par
Well today Chay went back to daycare. He seems to be back to his normal self. I am in Salt Lake City on a 3-night business trip. Since I was taking a late fight yesterday and since Chay had been sick, I decided to keep Chay home for the day to get one more day of recovery. Plus I got to spend some quality time with him before being gone for 3 nights.
One of Chay's favorite activities these days is to play Wii, particularly the Wii Sports games. His favorite games are tennis and golf. Chay has figured out how to swing a golf club. He has been getting better about getting the gall on the green, but his putting could use some work! With 5 feet to the cup, Chay is still swinging for the fences. Well yesterday it finally happened. Chay parred the par-5 hole #3. Not bad for being 16 months old.

RSV

Chay made his second trip to the clinic for the month of February. Earlier posts showed that he was out sick for a bit. That cold landed him a trip to the clinic because he was unable to keep down formula for 6 days. The doctor said he had some virus and was just getting over it. After a blood test, the doctor determined he was not dehydrated and just need some more time to get over the illness.
This week, Chay came down with something else he picked up at daycare. Chay stayed home Friday but was having fun playing as can be seen in this picture. Today we took Chay to the doctor and he confirmed Chay has RSV or something "RSV-like". So we will be giving Chay nebulizer treatments and hopefully he will get better soon. He has been in a great mood considering his illness and he can sleep at night so long as one parent props him up in a reclined position.

Update
There really hasn't been much going on lately. Chay has been better since his illness that kept him out of daycare. Last weekend, we attended the Sioux hockey games against Duluth. And the weekend before that we saw Lakken play basketball in the District tournament. Otherwise, its been pretty quiet around here for news.

Feeling Better
Chay returned to daycare today after being sick for the previous 5 days. He was mostly back to his normal self yesterday. We even ventured out to MacDonalds where he chowed down on some McNuggets and chocolate milk!

Up the stairs. Down the stairs.
Chay has been able to crawl up the stairs for some time now. Just this month, he has decided he wants to go down the stairs. Instead of "crawling backward" down the stairs like most kids his age, Chay has decided to take a more "adult" method as can be seen in this video.
15 Month Checkup
Chay had his 15 month checkup today. All is looking great. He is now 31 inches tall and weighs 23 pounds 6 ounces.
While there, we had the option of giving Chay 2 more shots or wait until his 18 month checkup. We opted for the shots today. The good news is this means Chay wont have to get any more shots until October!
