Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons started on Thursday and will repeat once a week for a total of 8 weeks. Here they are in their swimsuits ready to get into the pool.

This is the first activity the twins have been able to participate in. Normally, they just get to watch Chay from the sidelines. I think this is good for them to be old enough now to be able to participate. The twins got a little scared when the lesson started. Jenner warmed up to it easier than Jace. But all in all, both twins were better than Chay was on his first swimming lesson.

Still Sick

I recently wrote about our sick winter. Chay got sick over the weekend and Jace and Jenner got it as well, although not as bad as Chay. We kept all 3 boys home on Monday and Tuesday this week. Let's hope this is the end of the illnesses.

Termite Jamboree

Last weekend, Chay had his end-of-year Jamboree. Since they don't keep score at this level, there isn't a tournament per-se. But they play 3 games in 2 days. We cap it off with a pizza party.

Chay does have an extra Jamboree this weekend, so his season isn't quite over yet.

Latana & I did think that this season went fast. There could be a few reasons for it. We didn't have to chase the twins as much. They sat at least 50% of the time. Plus this was Chay's second season and we are getting used to it.

Yesterday I signed up all 3 boys for swimming lessons. Chay has done them before. This will be the first time that the twins will have had an activity to participate in rather than watch Chay from the sidelines. And soccer season starts in about 6 weeks.

A Sick Winter

This winter has been the worst for colds and other illnesses around our house.

I spent the better part of one month with one cold or another. As soon as I'd get over a cold, I'd catch another one. One of the colds required me to take antibiotics before I could shake it.

Out of all of her colds, Latana had a real nasty cold that turned to early stages pneumonia. She needed two rounds of antibiotics before it would clear up.

Chay needed antibiotics to clear up a sinus infection.

Jace had one cold where he couldn't shake his cough. I took him to the doctor and xrays showed some stuff in his lungs. With the history we had in the house this winter, the doctor put him on antibiotics.

Jenner is the only one in the house that hasn't been on antibiotics. Knock on wood.

As soon as we'd get one kid healthy, another kid would get sick, not necessarily with the same thing. I think that for the better part of 2 months, we always had someone sick in the house.

Last week, all three boys were complaining that their tummy hurt. They must have caught some stomach bug. Let's hope that Spring starts soon and with the change in the weather, everyone gets healthy.

Cold Winter

This graphic was in the local paper this weekend. We've had a really cold winter. None of the temps have been below what we expect to see during winters around here. And I get a chuckle every time I hear the rest of the country complaining about how cold it is this winter...they have no idea. LOL.

The big news around here is how many days we've been below zero. You can see from the graphic that our subzero temps started in early December instead of the usual early January. Normally the subzero temps start to fade in early to mid February. But it is March now and the temp was about -25 last night.
