Air Show
We took the boys to their first Air Show yesterday. It was super hot outside and the boys were all miserable from the heat. But they had fun climbing into a Black Hawk helicopter, even sitting in the pilot's seat. After looking at a few ground displays and battling the heat, they were starting to get crabby so we made a beeline for the bouncy houses. This seemed to make them happier, but not any cooler. After some time, we found a spot on some grass to sit and watch the Blue Angels perform. They boys started complain about the heat again. Frozen lemonades didn't seem to help the issue any, but watching those F-18's in the sky sure made them forget about the heat. The boys loved watching the planes streak through the sky and make all that noise. On the way out, we got each of them a model F-18. When we got home, the boys played with their Blue Angels for a very long time. So it was hot, but they all had fun and are excited to go back next year.
Swimming Lessons
The boys have been in swimming lessons twice so far this summer. The twins weren't too happy about this. We switched locations for our swimming lessons and Jace and Jenner have been screaming about it the entire time. Jenner even refused to go last week. His refusal is why he is not seen in any of these pictures.
Jace seemed to warm up to the idea by the end of this second session. And he was smiling. Now we just need to get Jenner to participate.
Soccer Camp
Chay attended his first soccer camp last week. They had British coaches come and provide a week of fun for the kids. Chay absolutely loved it and was sad to see it end. One week of soccer camp has already improved his kicking of the ball. At the end, the 6 and 7 year old kids all posed with their coaches. Chay is under the red arrow.

Simple July Update
Its been HOT lately. Well not in the upper 90's, but it sure seems hot. Especially when I've been doing work outside. So time to cool off and send out a simple little update.
On Sunday, we went to Grand Forks to attend Levi's birthday party. We all went to the Minions movie. This was the first movie theater experience for the twins. Chay had been to a movie theater before, but he was pretty young and didn't remember it. So this felt like the first time for him. The boys all liked the movie and I'm sure we'll go see more.
After the movie was over, it was nearing 6pm so we decided to head to the Blue Moose for supper. The boys posed for a picture on one of the statues out front.

Yesterday, a local company started installing our sprinkler system. The yard was a complete mess. With the sprinkler up and running, they'll come back and grade the yard and plant grass seed. In about a month, we should have a lawn!
While the sprinkler was being installed, I was putting the finishing touches on the framing for our deck. We are now just waiting on the deckboards to get delivered.
We did have a short rain shower this nice rainbow managed to appear over our house when it was done.

Fair
The boys got their first taste of the annual fair. The last time we went, the twins were in a stroller and Chay was scared to ride anything. This year, they had a great time.
All three rode a number of rides.
All three rode a number of rides.
And afterward, they had popcorn, mini-donuts, and slushes.
It was a bit scary to read in the paper that one of the rides they enjoyed had broken at some point and fallen on a child. Also, one of the bouncy houses they jumped in deflated. None of that happened while we were there, thankfully.
Deck
Work on the new deck has begun. The ledgerboards are on.
And the posts have been dug and filled with concrete.
Red Sun
Wildfires in Canada have been playing havoc with our air lately. Lots of smoke has been blowing our way. The smoke makes for hazy days and the occasional red sun.
