Halloween 2019

It's that time of year again. Time for the boys to head out and come home with lots of candy.

From left to right, Jenner is Master Chief from the Halo video games. Chay is Rabbit Raider from the Fortnite video game. Jace is Skull Trooper, also from Fornite.

Above are the boys' pumpkins this year. From left to right: Jace's pumpkin features a spooky face and a knife blade. Chay's pumpkin has a cat and a one-eyed pumpkin. Jenner's pumpkin shows a spooky tree.

First Day of School 2019

The boys returned to school last week.

Chay is a fifth grader now and in his final year of elementary. Jace & Jenner are third graders.

2020 Baseball Season

The 2020 baseball has flown by and in a blink of an eye, it is now over. 

Chay played on a new league team this year. Some of the kids were 11 years old so the team played in the 11U league. Chay's league team did not have a great year. They finished with 6 wins and 11 losses and lost their only game in the year-end tournament. 

Chay did make the 10-year old All Star team which signficantly increased his baseball playing time this year. Between the league team and the all star team, Chay was playing baseball seven days a week. The all star team lost very few games and they won the championship of the State Tournament (pictured below - Chay is in the middle front with the catcher gear on).

Jace & Jenner were on a new team as well. They had better fortunes as they breezed through the regular season undefeated. Similarly, they won every game, including the championship of their league year-end tournament (pictured below - Jace is third from left in bottom row, Jenner last on the right in the bottom row).

First Time Skiing

As if our weekend were not busy enough, on President's day, we boarded a bus with a number of other hockey families and made a two hour trip to go skiing for the day. This was the first time our boys had ever skied.

They all had a blast but were super tired after the hockey tournament and a day of skiing. Time for some rest.

Squirt International

Chay participated in his first Squirt International hockey tournament. This is one of the largest tournaments in the U.S. There are 224 teams that participate from all over the US and Canada. The tournament is so large, they spread it out over three weekends. Last weekend, there were 80 of the 224 teams in town. Our own youth hockey program hosts this event and it is tons of fun for everyone involved.

During the opening ceremonies, they take a picture of all the kids participating. For Chay's weekend, there are about 800 kids on the ice. They put the Fargo teams up front, since they are the tournament hosts. Can't figure out which one is Chay? He's on the right side. Here's a closer shot:

Chay's team played great and ended up in a very tough bracket. (The other two Fargo teams were in easier brackets due to a lower record in pool play on Friday.) However, they didn't win all of their games and did not get a trophy.

Chay has no games this next weekend and then finishes with two games the first weekend of March and his hockey season will be over. But the Squirt International weekend was probably one of the highlights of the season. The team played their best hockey when it mattered most and the best part is how much fun they had.
