Chay already knows his numbers and can count. So the next logical transition is for him to learn his A-B-C's. But Chay resists this for some reason.
For Chay's birthday, we got him a Mobigo. Chay loves playing games on our cell phones and we thought he might enjoy his own handheld gaming system. The nice thing about the Mobigo is that it is educational as well.
One of the games is the old arcade-style duck shooting game. The duck swims across the screen and you are supposed to shoot it. The duck has a letter of the alphabet painted on the side and the way you shoot the duck is to press the corresponding letter on the screen. Initially, Chay would get a few of them confused like B and E or C and G. This is to be expected of a 3-year-old. But I've been watching him play and Chay has managed to teach him self every letter of the alphabet. He has done this all on his own. We now just have to put them in the order of the familiar song because Q-W-E-R-T-Y will not suffice when he goes to school!
