Our house is coming along. We only have a few things left to pick out. Tile for the kitchen backsplash, mirrors for the bathrooms, and accessories for the bathrooms (i.e. towel bars, toilet paper holders). The sheetrock is mostly up and they should begin the mud and tape process this week. Then painting will begin shortly after that. We're scheduled to close on March 13th, yes a Friday...
Chay's hockey season only has about 1 month left. This weekend, he had a game scheduled to end *after* the Super Bowl started so many of the kids did not attend. Chay's team only had 4 kids show up. The coaches knew this in advance so they played a game during his practice on Saturday. For Sunday, the coaches cobbled together a few teams from the kids that did show up. That meant that Chay had to put on a yellow practice jersey over his green jersey. Otherwise, they had lots of fun and Chay scored 7 goals.
Is it really winter? We have long stretches in the 30's and 40's in January. It was below zero today, but that has been the exception this year. We have no snow on the ground. To date, we have had a total of 7.5" of snowfall. The lowest yearly total was 9" many years ago. I think we'll break that one. But this may be one of the least snow totals in history.
We have shattered one show record. Previously, the latest we had received 1" of snow in a 24-hour period was Jan 24th. We still have not yet had a day with 1" or more of snow. And there is no snow in the 5-day forecast. Every day without 1" of snow extends this current record out farther. No snow and warmer than average temps have helped get the house built.
