The twins started preschool this morning. Well, pre-school doesn't officially start until September 8th. But we wanted to have an overlap where the twins would go with Chay in the mornings for almost two weeks until Chay starts school on the 27th. Until pre-school officially starts, this is just day care for them.
We had a visit with the preschool class last week. The twins got to eat breakfast there and play for about 2 hours. They were both excited and had lots of fun. This morning, Jace was eager to get there and get started on his new life. Jenner...not so much. He wanted to go back to Joann's today.
When we got there this morning, Jace went straight for the toys. It took a few minutes, but Jenner started warming up to it too.
It's odd to be done with Joann's in-home day care. We've been going there for six and a half years. I remember when Chay started there as a baby. Then the twins. One day, I looked and Chay was the oldest kid there. It does happen fast. So we moved Chay to preschool and then on to kindergarten. And then the twins were the oldest ones left. There was another boy the same age as Jace and Jenner and all three had their final day there on Friday.
The twins will love being around more kids their age and do more things. Change is hard, especially for 4-year olds. But they'll adjust just fine.
