Jenner's New Shoes

Now normally, this is not news to blog about. But the shoe saga has been years in the making. Back when Jenner was wearing size 6 or 7 shoes, he discovered a pair of Chay's orange and black Nike's, size 10. We think that Jenner liked the orange color on the shoes. Jenner started wearing the shoes around the house...you know...the way kids like to wear shoes belonging to people bigger than they are...This started Jenner's shoe issues.

For starters, back when he was in size 7, he would not wear size 7 or even 8 shoes. They were too small. Hurt too much. He insisted on wearing the size 10 shoes which looked like clown shoes on him. People would make comments, but Jenner was happy and it was an easy concession to make.

Jenner still likes to put on other people's shoes and his current favorite is flip-flops. At one point, Jenner would not go to bed unless he had a pair of flip-flops on. Or, he wouldn't go to bed unless he had those size 10 Nike shoes on.

Jenner would wear these size 10 black/orange Nike's everywhere. During the summer, he would shun sandals like Jace would wear. So he would wear these shoes without any socks. His feet would sweat in the shoes and there were no socks to absorb the moisture. So over time, the shoes became very, very stinky. But they were the only ones that Jenner would wear on a consistent basis. So we put up with stinky shoes/feet the entire summer.

The stinky shoes were so filthy on the inside. Now that it is September and the weather is cooling, he would wear socks. But you would put a foot with a clean sock in the shoe and take out a very dirty sock. We made sure he would only wear old socks, not new ones because these shoes would wreck brand new socks with stains that would never come out. 

Eventually, Jenner's feet grew to the size of the shoes. He now no longer insists on wearing shoes a few sizes too big. He has has other shoes available to him...size 8...size 9 Skechers that blink when you step, etc. Finally he has a new pair of shoes he likes. He doesn't know it yet, but the old stinky shoes can no longer be found. Chay wore these shoes initially and Jenner has been wearing them for the better part of 2 years.

Lastly, we got the boys new shoes about a month ago. But the store didn't have the correct size for Jenner. So we ordered them to be delivered to the store. After waiting 4 weeks, the shoes still were not in. Imagine in this day and age of Internet ordering and quick speedy delivery right to your door, a store still takes 4 weeks and the shoes haven't arrived. We found the shoes in another store. So now Jenner has new shoes!

Hopefully, these new shoes start a new chapter in Jenner's shoe saga.
