March Update

A few things to pass along.

All of the boys in the house have been sick. About 3 weeks ago, I came down with some sort of bug. As I got over it, Chay caught it. As Chay was getting healthy, Jenner got it. Then Jenner started feeling better and Jace got it. Jace is just now getting over this latest illness.

A couple of days ago, Jace pulled the vent cover off the central air system by the bay window. He has done this in the past and he always gets a word or two from his parents. For some reason, Jace decided to put his foot down the vent shaft. Unfortunately for Jace, where the circular pipe meets the rectangular vent opening, there are sharp screws to join the two pieces. Jace received a 1.5" long cut on the bottom of his foot for his decision. Now these sharp screws are in the inside of the HVAC system. I guess the designers decided they were out of harm's way, but these people never met Jace.

Yesterday was a snow day as a blizzard ran through the area. We received about 4" of new snow. School was cancelled which meant Chay had no preschool. And with Jace being sick, it was a good day for the boys to stay home.

Last week, we had our first parent-teacher conference. This was after Chay had been in school for only two weeks. Chay seems to be adjusting well. He is behind the kids in many aspects, but his classmates have been in school for 7 months already. So while you might say that he is 7 months behind, I prefer to say that his is 5 months ahead since he wasn't going to preschool until next Fall.

Jenner has been working hard on his noun possession lately. He is learning "his nose", "Chay's shirt", and "Mommy's seat" among other things. We'll work on something like a shoe and he'll point out his shoe, and state the owners of the other shoes he sees. In addition to assigning first names, he is working on possessive pronouns like "my", "his", and "yours".
