For the second game, Chay was goalie.
Chay didn't get any practice as goalie during the week like he did the last time. So we were unsure how he would do. But he did great, making many key stops.
The next night, Chay was back in the lineup as a regular skater.
Chay must have been inspired by his good goalie game because he had his best game of the season this night scoring 6 goals!
After the final Jamboree game, they hand out participation medals and take lots of photos.
Above is Chay's team. Six of the nine boys will be moving on to Squirts next year. Three will be second-year Mites next year.
This really was a good group of kids and it was a lot of fun watching them throughout the year. Chay had a good time with these kids. And as much as he may not want to admit it, Chay has a good time with his brothers as well (below).
Chay worked hard on his game this year and it showed by the end. He is skating very well and got stronger as the season progressed.
Chay is now on to Mite Madness for the month of March. This is a month-long program to get the kids ready for the Squirt level, with full ice games and referees. The program is designed for second-year Mites, but after they register, they open it up to first-year Mites. He'll get to play with his good friend Ace, whom he has played two seasons with previously, and another good friend Beckett, whom he has (surprisingly) never played with in the past.
Jace and Jenner have there year-end Jamboree this coming up weekend and I'll post pictures of them after that.
